This NVME SSD is technically $539.30 MSRP but there is a second listing on Walmart online that has the price cheaper at $289 instead of the currently discounted price of $321.99 here: https://www.walmart.com/ip/WD-BLA...om=/search

Feel free to check other stores for a cheaper price but the link for this deal is still live on walmart here: https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/...=4R0-DPBPH and the barcode can be found in store. I suspect it is the old listing before recent chip shortage price increases.

This is a solid SSD for a great price as well.

OOS here. The $139 / 2TB had claimed in stock a few days back, but probably false inventory as the order was cancelled after 18 hours.

Gen 4. Not worth it.
Gen 5 goes for $440 right now. I think it is very worth getting gen 4 for most users.

Is this worth it for a PS5? It looks like the cheapest I have seen in the past couple months for this. Can anyone chime in with their expertise?

Anything around 4TB usually goes closer to $400 with similar speeds and TBW ratings. It comes with a 5YR warranty as well which is very nice. I don't know if your PS5 has the option to fit a heatsink or thermal pads but maybe order those.

I have a 4TB SN850X in my PS5. Works great. Just be sure to buy a PS5 SSD heatsink for it. I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/SABRENT-He...B09HSQQWCL

I think it'll work fine if you install it out of the box but I connected it to my PC and updated the firmware before I installed it in my PS5 just to be safe.

This exact same drive was under $260 less than 2 months ago at Amazon. It has been as low as $230 in the past year. Not worth it IMO. You do you.
Chip shortage will drastically change that. RAM has already surged.
