For a home DIY beginner, which one is better: the DeWalt 8 1/2 or the Skil 10in?

I've had this saw for a few years and it punches well above its class IMO. I use it for some pretty detailed woodworking and I've made a lot of useful jigs for this saw, it was easy to seal up some areas underneath for dust, easy to find aftermarket accessories or even 3d print your own. It's is quite accurate and easy to adjust, unlike the ridgid I had prior to this. I did however build it into a workbench so it feels like a bigger saw with a lot of infeed and outfeed room. One day I'll get a saw stop for the safety benefits but I have no other desire to upgrade beyond that.

Good deal for a great saw. Price shows 349 but a $50 cupon is click to apply.

I went ahead and picked one up. I am making a french cleat wall and my shop is almost done. I looked at doing it with a guide and circ saw, but this will make life so much easier. If you guys have any great youtube series on learning to use a table saw I'd appreciate it. I'll be googling around tonight. I've done a bunch of DIY work, just haven't dove into a table saw yet.

I may upgrade to a 10" years down the road, but theyre almost 2x the price and this will handle everything I need to get started.

This one wasn't on sale when we were looking for a replacement but the Skil 10" for under $300 is an awesome table saw.

Awesome table saw. Got it from Lowe's for around this price and it came with the heavy duty rolling stand. Make sure to upgrade the fence with the TSO fence if you want extra features.

StumpyNubs on YouTube has some great videos. First one you should watch is on table saw safety. If used improperly they can seriously hurt you. Note that cutting a 4x8 foot piece of plywood on this saw may be difficult.

I'm not seeing the $50 discount during checkout, just the $349 price. Anyone else having any luck? This may be dead.
