Nice! Been waiting for this to drop again. Not under $500, but a solid deal for a great planer with these extras. From what I understand these wings are almost necessary to help keep longer stock from sniping, and an extra set of blades isn't too bad either! Probably will upgrade to helical at some point but 2 sets of blades should last me enough time to find a good deal.

Bought this last year through cpooutlets eBay page for slightly more. Definitely worth the investment. Adding a digital gauge add on makes this even more useful than it already is.

A digital gage you can set the thickness for each board down to 0.001 inch

They don't completely eliminate snipe, but having them nice and dialed in does help reduce it. Helical cutter elevates them to a whole new level. I've used mine to plain endgrain cutting boards and for that it works rather well (forget trying it with the normal blades, it'll just blow out the edges).

Been contemplating picking up a helical cutter. Would you say that the helical cutter significantly reduced snipe?

No, or not really... but their slicing action does significantly reduce tearout in areas with challenging grain that would normally tearout with straight knives (like areas around knots or boards with figured/wavy grain).

Who else got it got it for $375 shipped in '18 from Factory Authorized Outlet? Glory days.

It has been $500 a few times in the last 13 mos including last Dec (twice) from Amazon. Good price though.

My DW735X wasn't quite that low, but $425 was still pretty good (also in 2018).
I think the real score was the Shelix helical cutter head I got later that year for only $207.
