It's a bummer since I've had the WH-H900N for about 6 years or so now and they've been problem free for probably a few thousand hours, but the ANC isn't the greatest (it's not bad, but it certainly was never a match for the higher end Sony's like the current mid-rangers are)
I picked up these Bose - mostly because they don't have the durability issues, but they retain the same design as the older QC models we were given at work at my last job in the office which were the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn. I just couldn't justify the $250 price tag on them.

So, the sound quality is similar (both pleasant & good (considering the limitations of current BT technonogy). For most users, the long-term advantage of the QCs superior comfort will be much more significant for a long-term positive user experience.
