Beware, these only have write speeds up to 460 mb/s, much less than the 1100 mb/s for the T7 and the 2000 mb/s for the T9. Decent price for a budget storage, but you can find similar prices if not better on a much faster 2TB drive. I guess the kicker is the extra 512gb USB-A flash drive but that too is pretty outdated

Not the best deal in the world, but it's not a bad for what you get for that price...

I have a 2 TB T7 and the write speed is horrible my Seagate performs better than the Samsung.

I got a few of these at the local Wally World for half that price, the usual YMMV type of deal. I had a few posts in that thread, starting here: https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=179348095&postcount=20

The internal interface is UASP SATA as reported by CrystalDiskInfo, not NVMe.

They meet my use case...

My T7 performs at, and sometimes above it's stated speed. There's plenty of reviews that show the same. Posts that claim otherwise are often using machines, or ports that don't support the higher protocol. Not saying that's the case for your T7, but if there's a problem, Samsung has a warranty option for that case. As to the T5 in this deal, yep, it's dated, but if you have a USB-A port available, then the the Samsung Fit 512 makes it a decent deal for storage. SanDisk makes a mini 512 USB drive that's similar, but gets hotter than blazes, and is a cheaply made alternative. The nice thing about the Fit is that you can just leave it plugged in. it's that small.

Good deal, but the transfer speed kills it otherwise.

Just wait for Thunderbolt Drive even at 120% it's worth it for next 5 years

"Thunderbolt SSDs are not backward-compatible with USB Type-C ports that lack Thunderbolt support; look for the little lightning-bolt symbol next to the port."
^ This is the biggest problem.
