Whoa, didn't know they came this small. How are people using this - I'm looking for some inspiration! Could I attach it to a phone and offload all photos/videos? Is it automatic by chance? Or if I house a lot of media on it, could I keep it constantly connected to a TV and play a movie off it (assuming the type c worked in the TV or even via adapter)??

This doesn't say it's compatible for photo backups. There is another model that is compatible and has been on sale. Frequently goes out of stock.

What do you mean by "compatible for backups"? This drive is primarily used to record RAW footage directly to it

I use this with my Iphone mostly to record in pro res to the drive or download pics and video from my phone to free up space. Its a tiny little device and well worth it IMO.

Your own NAS for around 400us, like synology or similar is a more convenient TB/$ and practical way to go.

Ya this seems like great for a content maker that specifically shoots with a iPhone. Could also be hooked up to a iPhone, use the iPhone as a live camera with a backup. Could be a trainer making videos, a streamer or something like that. Great way also if you want to get into making videos and learning to edit but don't want to spend money on a nice camera.

This seems overpriced compared to just taking a reputable 2230 SSD and putting it in a tiny 3.2 enclosure from Amazon, which would have much faster read/write speeds. This is only marginally smaller than the smallest 2230 enclosures. Just my opinion.

I hear where your heads at, but that's not quite true.

This beats the price of almost any *decent quality* rig you'd buy on Amazon.A standard 2tb 2230 is $150-200. Add a mobile enclosure that's anywhere near this small and refined looking and you're easily adding on $30-50 and it still won't be as portable.

Even considering custom built options, this is a respectable deal. Essentially, this discount makes this competitive/slightly cheaper than a similar (and still larger) set up you could build yourself. Plus, it's compatible with their tiny usbc phone hub if you intend to use external accessories like lavalier mics, etc.

On the surface, this deal puts this SSD in a pricing bracket with similar SSD's of its size, however, the benefit here is that this one is purpose designed to be used for mobile content creation. It's whole thing is being tiny and convenient for mobile recording.
