It's 7". 1080p is more than enough. Of all the problems with the base model XBOX ally x, which isn't worth buying over an Ally / Ally X / Legion Go S with a Z1E chip, this is the problem you have?

No. It performs worse than the z1e. The z2e is marginally better, more so at low TDP, but I would personally not upgrade to any of the z2e options. If you have a z1e, I would suggest waiting a generation or two more. I personally have an Ally X and I've been tempted but ones with bigger screens like the MSI Claw or the Legion Go 2, but there is no significant performance reason to pay more right now.

No. You'll get the Xbox experience, but from what I understand all devices will get that in a few months. I bought one and returned it mainly because of the screen. Not the size, but the angle of it. I have a Rog Ally Z1E and it works great.Just bought an open box Legion Go S for the larger screen size, but it'll likely perform the same. I had the Z2 and the Z2E, but sold them since I couldn't justify the cost already having a high-end laptop and desktop machine (both provided by work).$499 is a good price though for new hardware. Open box might find better prices.

The windows update for Xbox full screen experience is already out, I have it on my ally x. It's...ok. Settings are too difficult to use but it does help get 2-3 more fps out of the same device, which sometimes makes a difference. The legion go s will actually perform better. Steam OS is much more lightweight. The Z2 in the base Xbox ally is so underpowered if you buy the OG ally z1e, not even the ally x, which you can get for less that this deal, you will be better off. The only advantage of the Xbox ally x is the grips / ergonomics.

If you can be patient the panther lake handhelds coming out in 3 months will be far superior than anything out now, 2x faster GPU than the best performance out currently
