Looks like they inflated the price and discounted to the original price

Seriously $2k is laughable. $629 is still laughable. A dozen different AMD based units are half this price and just as powerful or more

These are commercial grade computers meant for hospitals, corporate businesses, and high demand areas.

Agree there is inflation to the price but in my years working with commercial desktops in hospitals HP Prodesks/Elitedesks have by far been the most reliable desktops I've ever encountered. Followed very closely by Dell (which I've seen some failures) and then Lenovo (which has the worst quality control/reliability but better than typical consumer grade PCs)

Single-core performance is about the same as the M4 8 Core (but much better in multi-core performance than the M4), and this one can be upgraded relatively easily. Obviously, if you are in the Apple ecosystem, the Mac Mini is tough to beat at $450-$500.

Nonsense, I can buy Dell direct machines with identical specs to this for WELL under $1k. There's no way this machine is ever worth $2k.

My guess is the MSRP exists so procurement departments look like they are doing their jobs.

It shows out of stock for me

Totally agree. These things are tanks. I've seen them work for years without problems in very harsh environments. Plus, they're supported for a very long time. Most other mini PCs are disposable in comparison.

You failed to reliaze the Mini PC with Mobile soldered Hardware from Chinese brands with a Mini PC with true Desktop Processor which can be replaced and upgraded, comes with top notch support, 3 years Onsite warranty and tons of security features which make them usabel in Professional usecases.
And most of the Mini PCs in this price range, comes with Zen 4 based Processors like Ryzen 7 8945HS and its different rebrands, cannot beat this in CPU performance.

Yeah, makes sense... The inflated price is what they charge your insurance...

It's HP, Intel and AI CPU. You won't get any mac pc, tablet, phone with those CPU less than $2k.
