I'm no expert...but have been looking at all the BF deals and this one seems pretty good to me.
Wish it was 1T hard drive.

Only one comment - with only one stick of RAM, the GPU will be in Xe mode instead of Arc mode. If you can add a second you'll get a big GPU boost.

It is a good deal: newer, fast, many cores CPU ICU5 125H, 16gb ddr5 (max), 512gb ssd, good screen, NON TOUCH, fast WiFi & usbC charging.

For comparison: Staples has Asus Vivobook 17.3" with ICU 5 125U (a lot slower), 16gb, 512gb nvme for $400. Unsure if it's touchscreen or if backlit KB.

You get to a point where you must decide if you want:
14", 15.6", 17" screen
Touchscreen or Not
FHD, 2K, 2.5K, 3K, 4K, OR OLED SCREEN *(touch or not)
Decent Ryzen or Intel CPU or Newer Ultra Core 1 or 2, or Ryzen 7/8/9000 series, AI 7-350, 9-360, etc.
16GB or 32GB DDR5 SODIMM (upgradeable) or LP/LPDDR5x (non-rep)
Backlit Keyboard or Not
45, 56, 63, 70, 80, 90+ Whr battery capacity
720p or 1080p or IR-Infra Red cam for Windows Hello
Weight: under 3, 4, or 5 Lbs
And obvi, Build Quality, Warranty, and personal preferred specs & positioning

*I quickly realized I want: 255h or 155h, 32gb ddr5x, 15-16-17" Touch, Wifi7, IR Cam, 60+ Whr ~$800
*I slept on that MCenter $700 Refurb deal... that was

Specs seems decent at this price but wondering why there's not much love from the SD community on this PC? Is this a good PC under $500 price point? Anybody can comment on the build quality of this PC?

The build quality on these are basic. No frill. This is hp entry level product line. The omnibook are much better build and many are selling in this price range except they are 16gb ram.

Cons: way too heavy even for a 15.6". Dimmer display. Small battery for a 15.6".

That has to be shipping weight.

How did u figure out its a single stick of 24GB? Very likely a 16+8 to me.

This was the best deal I found this Black Friday https://www.walmart.com/ip/HP-Omn...3968860429
Unfortunately, it is currently out of stock. But if you are not in rush, keep checking they might stock it again. It has newer i7 processor and 1TB SSD.
