Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank professorman

I paid $15.99 in April. This is my main headlights now though. I tend to run through the battery 1/2 way through whatever I am doing and need to switch to the second. I thought I was getting 2, but really u get 1 and keep them rotating being charged. Usually I only need 2 for working in the evenings until I am finished whatever I am doing.

It is way lighter than my previous headlamp that lasted all evening. I appreciate how light it is.

Charging is fast enough to round-robin two of these? If so, might be worth finally replacing my non rechargeable ones.

These [amazon.com] are nice as well at $11.29.

Purchased a pair of both a couple months back and no issues with either. These tend to last 3 to 5 years with moderate use before you need to replace them.

I keep ~6 to 8 of these around for this purpose. When they are new you could almost get way with a pair if charging them back to back after running one down.

But you would be better off with 3 or 4 so the battery has a chance to cool before recharge. I probably get a couple hours out of the highest setting from a full change when new. Recharge time is ~2 - 3 hours from empty.

As they get older (1 to 2 years with moderate use) the batteries don't last as long but recharge time isn't that much shorter.

Highly recommend these (or the other two dozen similar brands) over disposable battery models. They will pay for them selves in battery costs alone... and the post purchase running costs are practically free.

Quality headlamps are not that much more expensive. I got a Sofrin HS22 a few months ago and love it. Some recent uses were replacing a circuit breaker, cleaning up leaves after sunset, mowing grass after sunset, and picking up dog poop the night before trash pickup. I don't even use it on the highest setting (let alone the turbo setting) and it provides bright and high quality light. I know I sound like an advertisement, but whatever hopefully it helps someone. Research Sofrin on your own and go with them or a comparable brand - there's lots of people out there who are REALLY into flashlights and have plenty of opinions and helpful advice. Cheers!
