it's a screwdriver, not a drill. No chuck, just a hex port. Technically you could pop a drill bit in but the torque would be weaker.

If I was just starting out, this wouldn't at all be the kit I purchase. This is a screwdriver, it's useful, but not as useful as a regular drill. The best combo for starting out is getting the fuel drill/driver combo.

I own both and highly recommend them! The screwdriver is great for furniture assembly and the like, and the ratchet is amazing when wrenching.

Disagree. For a very basic homeowner, this lightweight screwdriver is just fine. They can drill with hex drill bits. No need for a big heavy dedicated drill.

No idea what you mean by a big heavy drill.I own this exact screwdriver and also the m12 drill driver. The weight difference is negligible, but the drill driver is way more versatile. But I suppose if your homeowner activities only include stuff you can accomplish with a hand screwdriver than sure this would be better option. But if you actually need to drill a hole (for like putting in a wall anchor) or drive some screws into wood, this isn't going to cut it.

They did say for basic homeowner, probably will never drill except for hanging curtains on drywall

It can do light weight drill duty .. but at least use the right name as to not confuse new people, since they are your concern.

Disagree. A basic homeowner that would be satisfied with only this drill is most likely never going to touch this ratchet. This set doesn't make sense for a basic homeowner. I also agree with others that the added versatility of the drill driver is well worth it
