Well, if you want ppl to sign up for subscription, at least give the hw for free. Like free games on our phone, then buy in app purchase.

Although they are clearly moving toward that (ie new Sync Module's no longer offering physical storage support) you can still use previous Sync's for offline storage and access without cloud subscription. Sure, certain features are limited (you can't do live view nonstop for example) but you don't NEED a subscription and can still review video clips once they are professed.
