We have been through quite a few of the Harbor Freight ones over the years for transferring fuel from gas cans. We have found that hanging them up (vertically of course) to dry has made them last quite a bit longer. Of course you also have to handle the hose daintily so as not to crack the plastic and cause a leak. We use them frequently and the last two pumps each lasted almost a year.

I had purchased something similar and when it arrived it was flimsy and looked fragile. Hope that is not the case with this one.

Have had a couple of the Harbor Freight versions...both died, leaked, wouldn't pump...I suggest getting a cheap "regular" fuel pump and connect it to a battery.
