The Neural Accelerators per GPU core are the game-changer for the M5 -- but ONLY if video workflow involves short AI-related tasks (e.g. stable diffusion, text-to-image), etc. But if this is your profession, not a hobby, the lower memory bandwidth will hobble 4K/8K extended renders. If doing single-shot animations, short AI image generation, this thing will beat the M4 Max--but not in SUSTAINED workloads. If you need GPU, just wait a few months for M5 Pro / Max and don't buy now. If you just are a hobbyist and want to add some AI effects to family photos or videos, then base M5 will be fine. The M5 Max is going to be such a monster in AI-related image generation and workflows (which is incorporating itself into everything now) that you'll regret getting an M4 now.

Best Buy wont price match over chat since they've paused it for the holiday. So hopefully Best Buy store wide would drop in Price. Apple will match it only up to 10% (so gets it down to edu store pricing).
