Are these B4 or B5 that much worse than C5? I have an option to get the 65in (dont really need much bigger) for $1070 with a included cheapie sound bar or $980 without a sound bar.

I think the b4 is better than the b5. Supposedly the b5 has a crappier processor and crappier panel? But that is just hearsay. What I am really curious about was the B4 supposedly having the same processor as the c4 and maybe be able to hack upgrade to the c4. But again that is hearsay.

Not really hearsay. 83 B4 is definitely better than any other B4 and better than any size B5. Only the 83 inch version of B4 came with Alpha A9 processor. B5 has A8 processor across the entire line.
83 B4 had almost the same components as C4. The only difference was B4 had a matte screen, C4 had a gloss screen.

I was been looking for C4 to go down from last year Black Friday deals but I don't see that happening. So better to go with B4 instead of B5?

im watching on the 83 b4 right now, the screen seems glossy to me. the edges on the reflections looks sharp

This. From all the info I can gather, LG basically used the C4 83 panel in the B4 83 inch (and I assume had to also use the same C4 processor to operate it). I ordered a B4 83 inch but at the time the B5 was 2000$. I think I may still order the B4 even if B5 was the same price.

The C5 is a better choice if you do any daytime viewing. Otherwise, get the most TV size you can get for the least amount of $.
