My point in showing another listing for a better price with higher rated weight capacity was that this isn't exactly a smoking hot deal. But, having seen many retailers black friday deals this year so far, this isn't an issue that should bar it from being posted

You're of course free to buy this one. The weight of the entire package for OP's link is 20.1 lbs. whereas the link I posted is 38.6 lbs (I'm going to work under the assumption that the one I posted isn't also bundling in an anvil, but you never know...!). That said, to say the OP's shelf "looks much beefier" is potentially dangerous when (a) we have no idea if the shelf material is hollow to make it look "beefier", or really anything about the material of the shelves, (b) the manufacturer's weight capacities and weight of the packages are clearly posted, suggesting the original post is less hardy, and (c), and I cannot emphasize this enough, none of us are structural engineers.

You know the old saying, you can't judge a shelf by its cover

This seems to be a better deal, no? 500 lb capacity instead of 400 in this deal, and it's $16 cheaper. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4QTG...title&th=1

Right, the OP's is 200 lbs per shelf. The other, at 250 lbs per shelf, holds 25% more weight

I think the difference in weight rating is due to the arm that's holding the metal shelves. Looking at your listing, the shelf material itself is a mesh metal. It's heavier, likely due to the long and thick arm. I can see if you put small but heavy items, like detergent bottles or heavy tools, it can deform easily compared to the shelf material in the flexispot. You might be right in that the flexispot one is hollow, considering the weight, but it should hold deformity better under uneven load. If you put big heavy things like tires or stacked plywood, then yours would make more sense

These things are pretty good. I have one shelf in my study which holds up my computer. Much cheaper than the "computer stands" and actually supports weight.

The downside to this is if you're under it trying to organize computer cables, this rack WILL NOT MOVE if you hit your head on it. Pretty sure I got a concussion from that.
