Note that the 800w alternator charger requires a vehicle with a heavy duty alternator. For most vehicles you'll want to limit yourself to the 500w charger or it can burn up your alternator.

You are 100% correct that you need to be careful, but you can limit the power draw with the software. I have the 800 watt alternator charger but it's still unopened in the box. I will open it if we have a multi day power outage or if I am building a camper van

These work well together with a generic 12v lifepo4 battery. It'll allow for charging at a much faster rate and you won't be limited to using the solar input at only 200 watts.

Do you mean you connect the Delta 3 Plus and the generic 12V battery with the alternator charger in between? That'll extend my fridge runtime to over a week with a 300Ah external battery lol, nice.

You might want to open it up and hook it to a battery and EcoFlow unit. That way you can upgrade the firmware. Some of the older firmware had problems, especially with 24V systems.

Yes, and if you have solar input, you can reverse charge the stand alone battery using the alternator charger.

How to check your vehicle? Which is big? Which one is small?

Good point. I probably should do that. I purchased my unit this summer but it could still have an old firmware

Decided to jump on this. I've been keeping an eye on the Delta 3 Plus... for some reason it has stayed at $699 since August (and EcoFlow seems to only be promoting the new "Delta 3" variants, which has become super confusing nomenclature).
