Do not buy it. Had it. First time the wifi module broke off in about a year, I cooked it in the airfryer and it helped. In about 4 months it broke again and cooking didn't help anymore, had to throw in the trash. Also it always lost connection in the same places by the phone cell tower of high voltage lines. Bought replacement, a noname adaptor from ebay for 15 dollars. It connects faster, never loose connection in that places, hadn't broken yet, will see.

How did you decide cooking it in the air fryer would help? Is this a common fix for wifi module issues?

I have this device in my 2018 Honda Odyssey. It works great with Samsung Galaxy phones and allows you to connect multiple devices. It may not be perfect: on rare occasions, it loses connection, but quickly recovers. My first device broke after about a year and stopped connecting to my phone. Motorola support sent me a new one under warranty. The new one works perfectly. Unfortunately, there aren't many alternatives on the market.

I assume the technical issues you described are typical for devices of this class. However, Motorola at least honors its one-year warranty. So you get a two-year device.

This thing is junk. Mine barely made it to a year and was always finicky.

btw im still using a small black plug that costs less then $10, in both my cars, has android auto and apple carplay, and takes 10 seconds for initial connect and auto reconnects after that forever.

its a small black square and there are hundreds of these listings available everywhere cheap Chinese stuff is sold. i genuinely dont understand how more expensive products that dont offer anything more then this have existed....

I have had two fail within a year. Been rocking a $15 cheapo version for about 2 years now without a hiccup.

I've had one for years and it works great. The only issue I have is with Android Auto and it automatically connecting if I'm in an area of my house close to the car. You can't turn off automatically connect.

Also the brand new one is $42 on Amazon. Not sure if the open box is worth it at that point.

Save yourself the headache and get the AAWireless Two instead: https://slickdeals.net/f/18860923-aawireless-two-android-auto-plug-play-wireless-bluetooth-adapter-43-99-free-shipping

I got the MA1 when it was first released and it did last a couple years for me, but it died on me the same way for many others. You can search the AndroidAuto subreddit for the issues with the MA1.

I had this and it was so unreliable. I made one with a Pi Zero 2W ($10 on sale at microcenter) and its way more stable. https://github.com/nisargjhaveri/...AutoDongle

This thing is garbage. It worked for a year or so but was an absolute nightmare to setup. A few times it lost connection and again an absolute nightmare to get it to reconnect.

I bought a Bytewave about 4 months ago and it's rock solid, on sale for 25 right now.
