I am thinking about buying one to put on my computer desk, to put some tools and small shit like sidecutters, scissors, small screwdriver, since I do some minor fixing in front of my computer (bigger messier stuff I go down to the garage), and probably get a 2nd one to hold all my damn assortment of USB drives, SD cards, FC cards, micro SD cards, usb adapters, card readers, all sorts of smaller computer related items I plug into my PC regularly.
Plus they are cute.

This it sounds like the harbor freight version is the BEST since it has actual drawer roller slides, and magnets holding the drawers shut, while the menards and other version have simple friction drawers which don't smoothly slide out.

I sort of agree but they are popular for crafts and sewing and soldering items.

Yep, that's correct. This would be the least favored of the mini toolboxes. The best deal were the HF ones for $10.49 last week for ITC members.

It only goes in a landfill if people are idiotic enough to throw it away. If it's usable, it can be donated. If not, metal is recyclable.

I bought a couple of them today. I'm planning to keep one on my desk to hold my smaller items. The quality is on par with the rest of their toolbox lineup. The drawer sliders work nicely and the drawers already have liners in them. I paid $15 each, they'll probably be cheaper on their black friday sale.

I use these type of mini tool box to hold small things like wristwatch batteries, watch straps, watch tools.
Another for USB cables & chargers, etc.

Having them in a central place prevents them from hopefully getting lost

I love little things like this, but it should be pointed out that the lid has to be open to bring the drawers out. That is a deal breaker for me because of preference only. Most people may not care.

I tossed this one away when I bought a much better one from Harbor Freight. The Menards version is inferior in all ways.

As others said, it's good for hobby supplies. I was thinking of getting this for 3D printing supplies.

Just tossed it in the trash, huh? Didn't bother to offer to anyone for free before sending to a landfill?

Cuz it's funny and cute in a way, and surprisingly handy to store a few small tools for house use so that I don't have to go to the garage every time~
