I actually took the same step and purchased this kit last year because the D750 was too cumbersome when I went on long trips (it was Japan for me). Along with this I also purchased the FTZ I adapter to use my 24, 50, and 85, and while I did use the 85 from time to time (since it ends up being ~127mm) and the results were great, and the autofocus was just as quick as it was on my D750.
Full frame is nice, but the compact footprint of this camera along with the best kit lens on the market and the versatility of the full control layout was awesome. I never felt like I missed the viewfinder since the screen was adequate. I don't see this as a D750 replacement for me, but it did make me shoot a lot more when compared to lugging my chunky DSLR, although I do think it can be for some.

Yes this seems solid. A sub $400 backup camera and/or walkabout. One I can let the kids use and now worry about? Should I get 2? Yes please.

This has at least one missing thing that for me is a deal breaker: don't have viewfinder. When you are outdoors and the days are sunny, a viewfinder is very much needed.
Also some people that have used real cameras and not phones to take picture will feel that they need it to frame properly the composition

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank Anthony2016

It's an excellent camera and pairs well with high quality, high value Vitrox Z mount lenses. Focus, color , sensitivity are excellent. Excellent controls with dual wheels, many custom buttons front and back, the custom f-menu and custom menu — it's a pro camera at heart. I've adjusted to the lack of EVF, and only rarely is it a true handicap (e.g. extreme glare).

For the most part it's the best of both worlds. Nearly as portable as a point and shoot, and nearly as powerful as a more complete mirrorless.

It's a must buy.

Get this one and get the refurb or used 50/200mm lens. Plenty out there.

Would this be good for Youtube podcasting indoors as a webcam? How is low light performance?

Is this good for a streaming setup? Thinking of upgrading from the ol' webcam.
