Just bought these exact socks in September and they're super-thin, more like dress socks than the thick cotton Hanes they replaced. Would have sent them back if I hadn't waited to open them until after the return window closed. Worse, I ordered three packages, expecting them to be like the ones I'd been buying for decades. Have only worn a couple pairs and am strongly considering donating the rest.
TL;DR = These are crap.

Yeah, these wear out very quickly, but they're cheap. Expect to buy a new 12 pack every year or so, even less if you're active.

Just to reinforce this message....I agree. They used to be good but the last ones I received wore out in no time at all. I only weigh 165lbs, so not exactly much abuse going on with them.
Whatever policy this is, it is just a load of crap.
On the plus side, a load of crap is also what you'd get if you *were* able to order it, so at least Californians get a load of crap for free instead of spending $6.59 for it. 😄
