Crazy good price for a reputable brand, probably a loss leader to get you into the GW ecosystem.

Wow, that's a great deal. I see they have quite a sizeable 24v line, very reasonable for the average homeowner who wants to do some DIY work around the house. I have greenworks lawn tools (lawn mower and a trimmer that can take ryobi expand-it attachments) that's on a different battery system, but I regard them as a reliable company as I've had no trouble with them over the past 8 years.

I'd buy it, I have their lawnmower, drill, leaf blower and they all work great but i'm already committed to Ryobi tools.

So your greenworks lawn tools 80v work with ryobi 18v bateries with adapter?

No no -- to clarify, Greenworks has 40V a brushless string trimmer power head similar to to ryobi's version where it detaches and can accept expand-it attachments. The greenworks still needs to use its own 40V batteries, but I can put the ryobi attachments onto it.

One caveat though is you need to be careful of the handle orientation with the tool's pin for locking. Ryobi's expand-it power head has a few holes to let you rotate, whereas the greenworks one i have requires me to use the ryobi brushcutter attachment at an awkward angle.

So these batteries won't work in the lawn mower and vice versa? 80v vs 24v?

Nope, you cannot mix the batteries.

To get 30%, first go to their site https://www.greenworkstools.com , then click link for 30% off with app signup. Did not work when I downloaded the app without first linking from their site.
