480Mbps is USB2. USB3 is 5Gbps. USB3.1, USB3.2, USB4, etc are faster still. Faster cables are handy for SSDs, video, etc. and faster cables are widely available, though maybe not for dirt cheap prices.

You specifically want a USB 3.2 cable. Most these days have reverted to USB 2.0 since most people prioritize charging speed over data transfer.

How are these for data?

480mbps sounds low...are there faster cables or is this the current meta?

If you're using the Amazon app you might be missing the step of tapping on the arrow that appears in the promo code box to apply the code.

so are these actually 240W cables? lol. i feel like i keep buying cables labeled 240w and they charge at a quarter of what they are rated for. unclear to me when companies are reputable or not on amazon these days.

Get these instead, rated for USB-C, Thunderbolt 5. I bought it in May 2025, it's a beast for fast charging 240W, 120Gbps Bandwidth for 16K/Dual 8K. Killer item, future proof. You can thank me later.
Silkland 80Gbps USB 4 for Thunderbolt 5 Cable 5FT, [USB-IF Certified] 120Gbps Bandwidth for 16K/Dual 8K, 240W, Braided USB C Video Cable Compatible for Thunderbolt 4, SSD, MacBook M4 Pro, iPhone 17/16
Sure thing, poster who just joined, has no post history, and who definitely didn't make an account just to sell this specific product! Sounds like great buying advice.

I picked up the chunky "100W" Lisen cables from the last deal because of positive feedback here. Used a 65W Anker GaN charger and they definitely weren't reaching advertised speeds. Took ages to charge my iPad Pro when compared to the 45W charger that came with my Steam Deck.

It depends on the device. Most devices charge at 65w or lower.
For phones they 15w or lower.

You can buy a usb meter, I've had 60 watt lisens that met that mark.

are these fast charging?
i still don't understand this crap.
transfer rate doesn't matter to me. just want fastest possible charge speed.

I really need to research this stuff more. I have a plethora of cables stuffed in a drawer that don't charge fast enough.

Thank you for any help.

Most smartphones support fast charging via USB Power Delivery, which is the PD3.1 specification in the product description.
