Very enticing, anyone know how these stack up against the Mountain set?

These do not appear to have the button direction selector. They are also $100 cheaper than the EZ Red, Mountain, ICON, Matco labeled versions of the same wrench. The button selector is always another point of failure on the tool tbh.

If it matter, I think they may be made by China not Taiwan.

I'm in the market for a set of these. Would you recommend getting these over Tekton ones ? Both lifetime warranty and Tekton released their new version not too long ago.

I have the Tekton ones and they've served me well. Looking at the pictures, the Gearwrench ones and the Tekton ones look similar. The biggest difference looks to be that these are 90 teeth and the Tektons are 72 teeth. I doubt Tekton will do a Black Friday deal for em so these definitely are the better deal.

Tekton did a few percentage points better than GW in the TTC ratcheting end shootout, so if you are a fan of that brand, Tek would be a fine choice (assuming they are price competitive) .

If you get the metric set, Tekton comes with an additional wrench (6mm x 7mm).

$213 for the Tekton set, so probably the best deal is the GW

I'm a professional mechanic and I use the ICON set at harbor freight, they have a better design because one side of it is extended so you can reach recessed bolts. and when you dont need that you can flip it the other way. Also HF has a better warranty that is no questions asked, no receipt needed.

I prefer these over the Mountain brand. While they may not include the gear selector, they also don't suffer from the bearing issues I've repeatedly encountered with Mountain. I've already done about three warranty exchanges with the Mountain brand due to internal bearing and gear selector failures. So far, I haven't had any issues with the GW, especially in comparison. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Good catch. And these aren't reversible. Still, I would've bought these if the ICON didn't go on sale for 40% off.

Many users complain of too much slop and the flex head is not strong
