These things use plastic for its brewing parts, correct? Like the parts just above the carafe?

This is a great machine. The heating element is really well done and makes an excellent cup.

Anyone find a metal grounds cup to replace the plastic one? I have it and it's incredibly good drip coffee. Better than anything I've had before

Like a mesh wire filter? If you mean the outside part, I don't know who would make one. It would literally be as hot as the boiling water and that seems super dangerous.

I don't know if this was tongue and cheek or not - but just in case. It'll make you remember why you love coffee again.

Sounds like an exaggeration, but it's night and day how much better this is than a Keurig.

Edit: though you can usually get a pretty good deal on a refurb from their website. Also I'd suggest getting the thermal carafe instead of the one with the heating element and glass one.

Nah I was actually serious, I don't know much about coffee, thanks. Would you suggest getting the one in this post? And how is the convenience factor compared to a keurig?

This makes the hottest coffee. I wish that there was a way to adjust the drip speed. There are mods for the drip bar that make the water distribute a little more even.

This makes a strong cup that is amazing. I love my full super automatic because the ease and conviencce, I love this for the taste. I can only drink maybe 2 cups from this vs 4 from my super automatic.

I appreciate the honest question and answer.Any regular coffee machine is not nearly as easy as a Keurig but the quality of a Moccamaster is vastly greater than the amount of work required. Keurig over time just tasted like coffee-flavored water while coffee from a Moccamaster is up there in quality, probably the best automatic coffee machine IMO.I would suggest getting the coffee maker with the metal carafe as I have a tendency to break the glass carafe. I drink about three cups a day and the 40oz carafe works for me.
