Wow these are getting so cheap now. It didn't seem too long ago when I paid $900 for this plus the extra battery from Homedepot

Not sure why you'd say that. This unit with an extra 1kw battery was all I had solar power station wise a couple summers ago in a 3 day outage. It would run our full size fridge and old full size chest freezer together for about 12 hours on a charge. Was also able to cook using this powering a microwave or nearly 1700 watt convection oven. Made my life easier not having to run a generator all the time. My kids are young and my wife won't mess with one. Could sleep and go to work without a generator outside running.

I agree there are bigger better units. But if this is what you have, you can make it work. I would just strongly suggest shopping for a 1kw battery to add. They've been as cheap as $285 new or $250 refurbed.

Nope I don't do the diy batteries. Nothing.
Wrong with those. But the regular smart batteries are just easier to use and charge. I use the ecoflow 1kw smart battery. The delta 2 or 3 1kw battery will work. A few months ago the ecoflow website had the delta 3 battery new for $285. The ecoflow ebay store had delta 2 battery refurbed for about $250 last week. I believe you can still register the refurbished ones for a five year warranty at the ecoflow site. Ecoflow is currently selling used ones on ebay for $259. But I have no idea if they are eligible for a full warranty or not.

These work as well

Smoking price for just $232.50 each. Unfortunately it makes you buy two. So would be perfect if you happen to have two units...

According to Ai yes you could. You would have to figure size of pots and how long you wanted to run them. Here's a breakdown:

Typical wattage by size
Small (1.5-2 quarts): 80–120 watts
Medium (3-5 quarts): 150–170 watts
Standard (6 quarts): Approximately 180–240 watts
Large (6-8 quarts): 180–320 watts
Extra-large (10 quarts): Can exceed 450 watts

Here's an example. You had two medium pots running at 150 watts each. You would get close to 3 hours of run time off this unit. Double that run time if you added one extra 1kw battery. I would check the wattage of the crockpots to be sure. If you're running a couple of the large to extra large ones. I would probably look for something larger battery wise.

Can I charge these batteries while I'm driving my van from inverter 12v to 110dc then use it for loads for while charging? It's work van. I have set up already 2 marine batteries in the back and hooked 3000watt inverter. Regular acid batteries is short usage while van is not running. Thinking to get these batteries and hook up equipment to this and use it while van is not running

In terms of watts, yes, but your runtime will be pretty low, like less than two hours. Instant pots work a lot better for these since they are insulated so once they get up to temperature they don't use much power. If you preheat them on mains power first, then you should be able to get more than 5 hours of keep-warm time on a couple pots.

Hoping i can get you to dumb this down for me a little bit.. I am not knowledgeable about these things (im in florida and have always been a gas generator guy).. In reference to the extra 1kw battery for nearly the same price as the unit.. Would it not be better to just go ahead and by two of these units ? instead of getting the extra 1kw battery ? Thanks if advance for any inuput.

Is there a difference in battery tech between this deal and the link above?
That's a solid deal. Exactly the same as this unit but with a slightly bigger battery. That is essentially this unit with the extra battery.

I love my gas and propane generators also. These are a great addition to those as well.
It's probably better to get 2 units if the price is same as an extra battery.. That way if one fails you still have a working unit. Or you can move them to different locations in the house.

The only drawback would be, that each unit burns some watts just by being powered on. So if you're trying for longer runtime on your fridge, you'll cut back on your overall runtime because 2 inverters are turned on and running at the same time. The extra battery has no inverter, so it is just an extension of power for the one unit that is already on. Hope that helps...

You have to be careful with what you buy because there's a lot of junk, and the website is designed to give you pricing of the lowest configuration, but allows sellers to mislead with the item title. A seller can put up an item with 4 different variations, but title the product page to make it seem like it's only for the highest version. You search for the item, see the pricing for the lowest config and waste time navigating the website due to that. There are also shady sellers, but you have to rely on seller reviews for that. If it's someone with little to no reviews or they're bad, then avoid them. Otherwise, their support is fine. I've bought an item from a scam seller, taking a risk despite seller having no reviews, and they refunded me quickly after I explained the seller lied about shipping the item. They also refunded me no questions asked for items that were poor quality.
