It's hilarious that $400 used to be the regular price for this, while it was $500 for the physical edition. I know this has a terabyte now, as opposed to the 800-something GB it had before, but still... Even if you buy this now, you're costing yourself so much more in the long run, because physical games are cheaper than digital, the vast majority of the time. Even when both versions go on sale, the physical version is usually $10-$15 cheaper. Not to mention that digital game full prices stay higher for longer. A game will go down to a regular price of $15-$20 for physical, while it's still $60-$70 for digital, years later. I like to use Dark Souls 3 as an example. It's still $60 for digital. It came out in 2016. It's $15 for a brand new physical copy. Lol. Don't be one of the many people on SlickDeals that always comments, "Man. I wish I would have gotten the physical PS5." Sure, you can get the separate disc drive now, but then you have to pay $80 for that.

Nope. Every generation, now, people say everything is going digital. People want ownership, and more people are coming around to the fact that you don't own digital. The PS6 is still going to have a physical drive. The vast majority of games are still on the disc, and I see that continuing with the next generation. We are many years away from actual full digital gaming.

"People want ownership". You should check how badly physicals sales have been. People want ease of use.
