Can this work as a car battery or would that be too hot for it?

Unable to apply promo code. The total after discount (excl. shipping) doesn't meet the minimum purchase amount.

To answer my own question: No, amps is too low. Need 400+ amps, not 100.

I haven't had good experiences with AliExpress. Bought a key programmer for like $200 that never worked. They never refunded it either. Plus another item that never came.

Note: Ah, not A. Big difference.

Well, it's both. Car batteries need to supply several hundred amps instantaneously to turn a starter motor. They also need to have enough capacity (Ah). This battery is short on both of those metrics.

Definitely not short on AH, but is short on A, since the BMS only supports 100A. Most car batteries don't have 100AH available. Even if they say they have 120-150AH in typical car battery rating fashion, usually only 50% of that capacity is usable. It is probably not the right size for your battery location in the vehicle unless you have a larger truck/suv

I received my ecoworthy 280ah battery in 4 days. Ships from US makes the deal more legit, that's IF the code works.

Car starter batteries generally do not have 100ah capacities.

The other issue is the output of the alternator. Assuming you bought three of these and paralleled them, you will get enough starting amps. Issue is that when the engine finally kicks over the lithium batteries also will take every single available amp the alternator can put out. At idle this load may overheat the alternator if run for a few minutes.

There are alternative battery styles that work better. Nmc and lfp battery tech isn't ideal in extreme hot or cold. That's why lead acid batteries are still around even in ev's.

I deleted the app after numerous complaints of orders that look like great deals. They take the money. Then some lame excuse of box damage please cancel order. They won't cancel it. If you do you lose buyer protection is their policy. So any purchases please only do with credit card to fund PayPal because I don't know what their game is but I did eventually get my money back. This happened three different sellers different more expensive items like generators and same excuses for not shipping. AliExpress says they will punish them on their points system but seller is still listing for sale two weeks later like nothing happened. If you are going to order at least look at the Q&A section as people have been using that as a way of warning others of scam sellers since their is no feedback system. I have gotten some great things from AliExpress in the past and worked well but after this never again. Nontwr the hassle not knowing if you will get the item or your money back.

There is a slight misunderstanding here above.

The BMS amperage (A) continuous output limit is not entirely relevant to starting a vehicle; the continuous rating is typically above 10-30 seconds. I've tested just about every Chinese brand -- not one BMS has ever cut current in less than the 10 seconds to start a modern petroleum engine.

The BMS amperage rating is specifically for continuous current -- however, you need 10 seconds or less, which a prismatic LiFePO4 (CATL, EVE, etc.) can push 3c for at least that length.

In other words, with a 100AH battery and 100A BMS, you can typically get 300A (3c) max current. With a 200AH battery 3c would be 600A, however, you would run into issues with the short spark-current-limit in that event, likely 300-400A.

The short version is that, if you were to parallel two of these and you have a smaller, modern car that can start with about 580A in 10 seconds or less, and don't charge it below it's temperature range, then you could use the set of two to start that vehicle.

I agree 100%, I've had similar issues and I've begun sorting by "Number of Orders" (which also helps reduce the scam prices listed for a cheap alt product option). This is an option in their search results; I believe the default is Popularity so you have to remember to make the switch each time.

Another tip -- if you buy items that are shipped by/from AliExpress (similar to how Amazon does fulfillment for other resellers), those items have always arrived reliably, in my experience.
