I think it's you who needs to Google, as that's what LOQ is: Legion on Quality, which is essentially quality control. Which means it's a watered-down version of the Legion series. Nowhere did I imply it's comparable to a legion.

Redditors say that there's motherboard issues with the Intel HX CPUs paired with the LOQ: unit becomes unresponsive, no power, etc.

Some claim this problem occurrs after updating the RAM, and others say the issue is with the HM770 chipset + HX CPU interaction in particular.

I usually love Lenovo build quality, and this is a great deal, but this doubt is holding me back, especially since this is only 8 GB RAM which will need to be upgraded, and also because I'm going to take this laptop to another country so a return will be out of the question.

Wonder if anyone else has more info on this.

Also, how much difference in quality is there between LOQ and LOQ E? I want something to last a proper Lenovo style life.

And I've also read that LOQ only has a single SODIMM RAM slot, so does that mean if I want to upgrade, I'll have to remove the current 8 GB and buy a 16 GB single stick?

3 year old CPU and last gen GPU. And this seems to be the LOQ Essential series which is watered down version of LOQ.
From this review, LOQ essential has only 1 cooling fan, compared 2 fans in LOQ and mainstream Legion. There are 2 2242 SSD slots, and only 1 memory slot (and hence the 8GB memory). For 500 it's not a deal. These AMAZON laptop sales up to now are not comparable to those from Bestbuy, Microcenter etc.

This is essential LOQ series with lower tgp and single fan. You should skip this deal as this will perform similar to 3050 with full power.
