The purpose is to slow / delay / deter forced, not make your house a bank fault.

Gotta ask, what crowbar proof doors you rocking?

LOL, all these people in the comment section trying to justify not having any protection because nothing on Amazon will make their house an impenetrable fortress or there is a video of a guy who spent 3 hours trying to defeat a lock then recorded a video of it on the 37th take to make it look easy. Wait until they hear how windows can be broken with a rock...or a milk carton...full of milk also works. No practice required....

Good to know. I think this will still serve a purpose. For me, it'll stop a baby/toddler from unlocking the door then walk out the front door. For this price, idk of a better alternative.

There was a video where some dude cut up a milk carton (basically, flexible plastic) and was able to unlock this. I already got two myself, a little less confident about these now. Although, I haven't looked any further about that.

That's what I use this for and it's a godsend! My door's designs are very tough to install other baby proof methods so this works like a charm!

Did you see the video of the guy who broke a window with a rock? Didn't even need to cut up milk carton. Instant entry into 99.999% of American homes.

Not to mention, if someone had this lock engaged, wouldn't they likely also have a deadbolt locked too? Did the milk carton defeat the deadbolt as well? #logic

Properly installing this would likely prevent the approach taken in this video. There's no way the lock was snug enough if a simple flexible plastic milk jug was able to unlock it.

I use these on all my doors and I like them. These are not intended to stop someone who is determined to come in. These are intended to deter someone who is looking for an easy score or slow down a determined thief. Also they should be used with other security measures like cameras and motion sensors all of which are fairly cheap these days. So when the thief is battling with the milk carton outside you are getting ready to greet him inside.

Had these for almost 5 years now. Great security addition but only when you're inside your home and not when outside. Even with wooden door frame, a 4" high tensile screw will put a tremendous delay, not to mention loud noise to make you ready for a lock and load event, for intruders.

Some people have these things called metal bars on their windows and doors, usually see it in really high crime areas. But you ain't going to Crowbar that down so easily, you better bring a chainsaw or a grinder.

I use these on my doors (toddler) and they are very effective. For those who saw the video, it could be a fake. Biggest fail is we are not shown the inside of the home when the plastic is being used. We don't know if anyone is behind the door, or if the lock is even engaged when the attempt from outside it made. As mentioned, proper installation will make this foolproof.

If you refresh the page the price changes to $18. But when I click the link from here I am able to order using Buy Now and it holds. Been noticing this with other items lately. Not sure why its doing it.
