No. You can pay for Fitbit premium if you want, but workout tracking and health metrics are free. The extra benefit are workout classes, recommended workouts or runs and analysis of your health and sleep metrics. You can also use Google fit or other health apps to track your workouts if you want.

Too bad Google doesn't let you use a 10% off Google Store coupon they sent out on top of the BF deals.

If you want the previous gen Pixel watch 3, it is $200 on Amazon for the WiFi model. Many used ones on eBay are going for $120. So there is a steep price drop for this watch in one year. This is my reason for getting the one year old model.

I tried to buy an open box excellent Pixel 4 LTE 45mm ($329.99) from best buy with in store pick up and the one I got was tied to someone elses account (language was also set to Azerbaijani), they did me a solid and exchanged for a new one shipped to my house.

The 45 mm Pixel 3 is also $200 on google.com.
Other reason to go for it is that the Pixel Watch 4 is almost identical in health and fitness features to the Pixel Watch 3. Main reason I'm not upgrading along with low trade-in values making it cost $200 to upgrade.
