Nope. They 100% price match with Micro Center. I had them price match the Mini M4 about a month ago. It was super easy. I did an online chat and the very first rep told me Micro Center is an approved seller. They just ask you to send them the link to the deal and then they get you set up and you can choose to either pick up in store or have it shipped.

It's so weird how I always get a downvote for saying this, when it's my exact experience and tons of other people's. Not one thing I said was incorrect.

Good price, but if you want to save $30, this has been going on sale for $450 at Micro Center pretty frequently over the last couple of months, and they're an approved seller for Best Buy to price match. Obviously there's no guarantee Micro Center will be selling at that price again this year, but I'd say chances are good that they will. Hold at your own risk, though.

I thought Bestbuy doesn't price match Micro Center because they are "in-store"? Or is it the "keep changing customer service rep until they agree" type of thing

Technically if the product is in store only and not available for shipping and you don't have a micro center semi local they can deny your request based on that. Micro center ships a lot of their stuff (afaik including the sale Mac minis) though.

I bought this from Best Buy b/c I have a credit card w rewards with them. I got BB to price match with Microcenter's $449, but they couldnt do a direct price match before the sale because they said Microcenter was breaking MAP (minimum advertised price) set by Apple. I used the online customer chat w/ Best Buy to get the price match immediately after doing the online purchase. They did refund the difference including sales tax.

No, you cannot upgrade the RAM on the M4 Mac Mini because it is integrated into the M4 chip and soldered to the logic board. While the internal SSD is technically removable, upgrading it is a complex and unofficial process that requires specialized tools, knowledge, and the correct proprietary parts, and it is not officially supported by Apple. The best way to get more RAM and storage is to configure it when you purchase the Mac Mini.

Looks like bestbuy has stopped price matching any retailers starting today nov 20 till dec 2.

I was trying to make them match microcenter which is selling it for $450 and in stock at my nearest location (still 30 miles). But they wont

I went to a Best Buy in Austin TX on 11/15 to price match Micro Center's and it worked as a $499 purchase plus a $50 BB gift card. (Note: Houston' MC has the Mac Mini in stock.) I picked up the mac mini on the spot but then used $50 gc to purchase a $65 UGreen 11-in-1 dock and stand that is free shipping to me. ( I know Amazon sells that Ugreen for $60 but that was how I could best used that $50)
The BB staff verified MC deal but she and the store manager could not reduce the price in the system so a $50 gc was issued instead.

Many suggestions are that we don't need to pay a premium for Apple's upgrades unless you really want to have everything inside that Mac Mini once for all. (Yes, it's VERY difficult to DIY upgrade and besides Mini's RAM is Apple proprietary)

Hence the mention of Mini doc/stand in my post earlier. Search for mini doc on Amazon and you see a bunch. UGreen is one that has a M.2 NVMe enclosure that supports up to 8TB, and also adds USB-A ports and SD slots. If you get that and buy a 1 or 2TB NVMe you would be well under $689. Indeed it's just 10GB/s USB-C connection but many had tested it's very close to Mini's internal SSD speed. And if you are picky and can get 40GB/s Thunderbolt dock.
