Is this a good "starter" rc truck for driving around in the grass? I grew up with a tyco RC Recoil truck that i loved driving around the yard and on the driveway. Looking to pickup something for the kids (and myself). Theres also some camp grounds we've gone to that have RC tracks. Do you need to buy controller separate?

It may struggle a bit in taller grass since this is a smaller scale vehicle. It comes with controller, it's RTR.

This is what's called an RTR so it has everything you need to use it in the box. I have the Mojave Grom and it takes the abuse like a champ but it's so small and light it gets stuck in grass and mud. I would recommend getting a metal aftermarket steering damper also, because the factory plastic ones strip easily.
Have two of these, bought last year. After small jumps (1ft tall ramp) the right rear plastic axel shaft keeps falling out. Aarma knows about the problems, parts are in back order. Keep having to put it back in place. So no jumping and you'll be ok.
