Good deal if you don't mind the VA panel.

Not bad - but thinking I'll get 2" more with the $249 LG 34" that Costco has on sale. https://www.costco.com/p/-/lg-34-...?langId=-1

Looking for a monitor for my 12yr old for his PC. Can anyone help with comparing this Samsung to the Acer Costco has for the same price?

From what I can tell the biggest difference is going to be resolution and the curvature.
The 1000R of the samsung felt very immersive for a single screen setup when I was in the store.

Samsung: 2560×1440 (QHD)
Acer: 1920×1080 (FHD)

Samsung: 1000R
Acer: 1500R

My mom jumped on this deal as a new monitor for her office. The curve is a little extreme if you are trying to do dual monitors, but she doesn't seem to mind because it is soooo much nicer than what she had before.
Negatives are washed out at this price. She is a very happy mama.
PS. the connection on back is a Display Port, not HDMI. Not sure why it is incorrect on website but the monitor 100% came with a DP cable.

For most people, a larger radius (1500r, or 1800r) will be more comfortable than 1000r. It would depend partly how close you are to the monitor. 1000r is more likely to cause eyestrain because the curve is too extreme, unless you sit really close, which can also cause eyestrain.
I might be more visually sensitive than some, but 1000r is a deal breaker for me. 1000r is a common reason for returns, and one reason why 1000r models have so many open box/refurbished options.

Change to 34" is not a simple as 2" larger than a 32". It is a completely different aspect ratio. 34" is an ultrawide format. It has nearly same height as a 27" monitor but adds additional width without increasing height.
A 34" has shorter height than a 32" and is actually about 7.75" wider. 34" would be preferred for productivity, making side by side windows or even 3x windows more usable.

It is becoming less common, but some programs in full-screen mode (i.e. retro or basic games, some video playback), that don't offer widescreen display, it may display with black bars on the side, and essentially will display like a 27".
