I have had this set for well over a decade. It does come in very handy when working on U-Bolts, have not used it for much outside of that. if you deal with U-Bolts or long studs with limited access for ratcheting open end larger heads, I recommend it. The set I have does not have a flex head.

I've had this as a rebranded Craftsman set (they used to call them Max Axess ) for probably 20 years.

Good 'around the house' set, because you don't need shallow and deep sockets.

Greatest invention ever if you often use threaded rod to hang projectors and speakers.

I've also had this set for a long time... I think I've used it twice. It's less useful than I thought it would be.

You can get a similar 21 piece Pittsburgh SAE/metric pass-thru 21 piece set for $28. https://www.harborfreight.com/sae...62305.html

Could someone explain why these are more expensive than a standard socket set?

For me the flex head makes it worth if for hard to access places.

In certain situations, these sockets are more capable than both a shallow or deep socket. Hell, even a ratcheting wrench. But, if you're asking, you'll likely never need something like this.

If it's a 17mm then it's much like the Astro nano socket pass through ratchet which I bought on SD several months back and I'm sure glade I did bc it came in handy getting off calipers bolts to my accord. Still waiting for the 3/8 nanos to come one sale (metric with no skips) wink wink hint

I have no clue as to why these aren't more popular. I have it try them out with astro nano sockets on my next oil change.
