The big benefit of this case is the back connect. If you're building a gaming PC, the only 800 series microATX board with back connect is this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FR5L6...5THI7AAWZT

I recently picked up this case at NewEgg on sale for $69 (in white). It's been a lot more expensive than that until this Christmas shopping season. The white one included "2x Pre-installed RX120 RGB fans and iCUE LINK System Hub", making it a much better deal, but it's sold out now. https://www.newegg.com/corsair-mi...6811139211

It's still available in black, though! https://www.newegg.com/corsair-mi...6811139210

Until this week, you could also get it in gorgeous real bamboo (!!!) but without the iCUE LINK and fans.

Very nice case. I have the 6500x rgb version it's beautiful. Got the black 2500x rgb for a micro atx build. You can't go wrong with this model and the price is fantastic. Needs extra space on the desk.

Hideous. And glass? Are we going back in time? Lexan always was superior. People have new complaints of their cases shattering into a millions pieces, I will def skip on that drama every time.

Back connect is a clear waste of space, and a revision of the microATX model is definitely not needed. Overeager engineers remaking the wheel.

My Thermaltake Z21 is a superior case, has a separate power supply area in the bottom. Sucks they don't sell them anymore.
I like Thermaltake cases and have done at least two builds with Thermaltake towers. Great cases, especially if you can get them on a good sale. My first liquid cooling was in a Thermaltake, IIRC. (Current gaming build is in a Phanteks, because I needed 3x Blu-Ray drives, and that's getting more and more rare these days.)

The back connect does use more space, but it does so for a reason: Looks. Come on, if people want to dress up their machines with LEDs and glass and what not, why not at least help them hide the ugly cables? Personally, I'm looking forward to back connect builds because I hate having to bring the cables around from under the motherboard to the front, trying to poke them through and then bend them over to get plugged in. So in a way, it's just taking that second compartment you're talking about at the bottom of the Thermaltake, and sticking it behind the motherboard instead.

As for the glass shattering, well, let's hope it doesn't. Obviously, aluminum would be better, because it sheds heat better than glass, and even better than steel for that matter. Remember the old all-aluminum Lian Li cases? Those things were amazing. But if you want to show off all those pretty LEDs that you paid extra for, etc. etc., then the glass has an actual purpose. And if it gets more kids interested in building computers, then I think it's great.

I'd stick with an ATX case.

ATX is obviously more flexible, as the boards have lots more options and an ATX case can also take uATX boards.

But ATX cases are bigger, and so people wanting to reduce the case size will often go uATX (my current gaming rig) or even the mini ITX (built one for my son).

It is a bit frustrating that there isn't a cost savings and more options in the uATX market, though. But it's been a long time since ATX had any useful capabilities that uATX doesn't. A modern uATX build can support 256GB RAM, 3x or more 8TB PCIe5 x4 NVMe drives, the top-of-the-line processors, the biggest heaviest mostest-power-hungriest GPUs, etc.
