The 150 oz Max unit which is newer is on sale for $314.99 after a 10% code and has a "Slushi assist" smart setting which apparently fixes a lot of the issues from these older generation models

Edit: for new accounts direct from Ninja website with a 10% off code that pops up during checkout

$10 cheaper in store at my Costco. That kind of makes up for the madhouse parking and crowded aisles!

What were the problems with this unit?

252 at Costco instacart. Have a lot of 20% off gift cards I bought from Costco so it's a little over 200 bucks for me.

Might have to finally jump on this one. Anyone who has it care to chime in if they recommend it?

If you are buying this to make frozen adult beverages - Hold out for the Ninja Slushi Max.

The Max has been on sale for $349 recently, makes up to 150 oz per batch, and most importantly - It can freeze mixtures with about twice the ABV as the original models.

See this YouTube video [youtube.com] for more info on the Max. This channel also has reviews of the smaller and medium size original Ninja Sluhi models and a half dozen Chinese brands.

Note - I recently returned an original model and am happy with my purchase of the more expensive Max for making "spiked" slushies.

From my experience with the similar but smaller 2nd revision of the original Ninja Slushi - This Costco model should work well for basic slushie mixes.

But the non-Max models struggle with mixes that require more freeze power / colder temperatures like adult beverages.

See this YouTube video [youtube.com] for a review of the recently released MAX.

This video [youtube.com] for a slushi maker shoot out. (Prior to the release of the Max)

This video [youtube.com] for a comparison of the original vs Costco model from this deal. (TLDR - Costco model has a bigger tank but same limitations on freeze capacity / temperature.)

I bought this and ended up returning it. Almost every beverage I tried would barely freeze.

There are several similar deals on slushie machines but you can't beat Costco's return policy, and the two included cups are actually a nice bonus. I thought they would be some lame plastic cups that I would never use, but they turned out to be very high-quality stainless-steel vacuum insulated mugs.
Mine has no problem making slush out of mango juice, lemonade, and chocolate milk mixed with condensed milk. The mango and lemonade will turn into slush on the lowest temperature setting, and the chocolate Frosty uses the mid level temperature setting. The instructions say you need to have an adequate amount of sugar in the mix to make it work. You also can't have too much alcohol in the mix.
