There are lots of great options that are good for those systems that are cheaper and require less set up. Android devices are great but they require more tinkering.
Look at devices like
Anbernic RG Cube XX, RG 35XXSP, 35XX plus, Miyoo Mini Plus, Miyoo Mini flip, R36H, TrimUI Brick, TrimUI Smart Pro, RG 40XXH, RG 40XXV...
Tons of great options for you. All of these run a Linux operating system that just works out of the box with almost no tinkering. Just load your ROM and play (many even have the option of buying them pre-loaded with ROMs).

If I didn't already have a Retroid Pocket 4 Pro, Anbernic Arc-S, Miyoo Mini plus and Anbernic RGCubeXX I'd totally buy this.
In fact, I may just buy it anyways for the 4:3 screen at 4.7.
-Pretty sure 120Hz can make all the games play/feel smoother regardless of framerate

I agree that these are too high and overkill for emulation. Maybe not PS4 but at least PS2 or PS3?
Even the Steam Deck can't play PS3 games reliably. It can handle some at playable levels, but not all. PS4 emulation is not in a great place today, and only a handful of games can be played stabily, even on beefy desktops. Like, 8 games are supported by Shad PS4, for instance.
For reliable PS2 emulation, you should really move to something like a Steam Deck. It's a great experience, in my opinion. PS3 games will run on the Deck, some quite well, but more complex titles will be unplayable. It's a bit of a crapshoot, and you can find people testing titles online so you don't waste your time with an unstable title. You will of course be better off with something with a better CPU like the ROG Ally.

If you want to throw money into this sector of shady handhelds, aren't OLED models only $20 or $30 away? When the hardware limits you to older consoles and older games, the screen quality becomes the forefront.
