I'm sure the slow burn/artsy fartsy Asheville type crowd will absolutely love it but if you're looking for anything that sticks close to the legend, history or really anything grounded and fast paced, this is not for you.
Edited: And I saw it for FREE.

If it's not your thing, it's not your thing, and ain't nothing wrong with that, but to offer another opinion, I liked it. The cinematography and editing was gorgeous and modern in the sense that it made what I worried was a stuffy old knight fantasy tale into something that hooked me in right away. It's a gorgeous looking movie in 4k. It is fever-dreamish in certain parts for sure. But I enjoyed it a lot. It's a pretty simple there and back again tale with some fantasy elements but the acting and gorgeous cinematography will definitely be worth it at less than $10 bucks for a lot of people. I didn't regret picking it up, but oh lord I regret buying King Kong (2005) for $8 recently. Oh boy is that just an eight dollar waste of shelf space.

When it comes to Arthurian legend(can't believe I just said that, I promise you I'm not that into this) I don't mind some liberty being taken. The 1980s movie Excalibur being one.. it was an absolutely amazing film but the writer and director took some liberties.
But the green knight? Two male knights having some sword play(in the bedroom, not on the field) naked giants who are randomly walking around and not explained.
It felt like it was directed by Willem Defoes character in Mr Beans Holiday.. a giant artsy fartsy mix of.. well I can't even describe how incohesive and confusing the entire thing was.
They indeed took a 14th century poem and twisted and warped the story horribly.
No arguments on King Kong, I think the entire genre including Godzilla is ridiculous. If I want scifi, I'll go watch something like Alien or Edge of Tomorrow.
