These were $5 cheaper a week ago but my old fire stick just died. Any reason not to save $10 and get the regular 4K stick? I don't use many apps so I don't need extra storage capacity the max offers. Video playback quality is the same right? Just faster menu navigation? I also see the fire Cube is on sale recertified for $80 plus I have a 20% trade in credit towards fire device. If I'm not using the smart Alexa stuff with fire Cube should I still consider fire Cube instead of fire stick? Does fire cube have better upscaling of lower res content or anything else better that fire stick max?

"To benefit from Wi-Fi 6E, a compatible Wi-Fi 6E router, like the eero Pro 6E, is required. Fire TV Stick 4K Max is also compatible with earlier wifi routers."
May not be worth the extra cost if you don't have a router that supports this

I saw it for $5 less last week on Amazon, but it's also on-sale at Bestbuy, so I picked one up from there because I had gift card. I have the newest 128GB Apple TV. This version of the Max allegedly supports TrueHD Atmos. I'll just use it for that.

I believe it will handle true HD Atmos from streaming services not from uncompressed Blu-ray rips. Doesn't the 4K stick have the same audio capability as the max though? If so I'd like to save money and get the 4K stick
Are there any advantages to Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max over a Roku Ultra 4K or Apple TV 4K?
Good question roku's are known for having the most app compatibility Apple TV 4K is the only streamer that does native frame rate matching I believe. The fire stick might be the only stick that can do Game Pass ultimate subscription game Cloud streaming. The new Max fire stick has 6E Wireless protocol but it's unclear to me that this extra speed makes a difference in a streamer. Walmart $15 and $20 ONN stick / puck with Google TV are also good streaming devices if you don't mind not having Dolby vision, but if you have a Samsung TV like me that doesn't support Dolby vision it's a non-issue

The one advantage of the Fire TV that I have found is that you can load some VPNs on the Fire TV to be able to simply use some streaming apps that you need to appear to be in a different country to use. I understand that some VPNs will now work directly on Apple TV but I haven't tried it. I don't believe that Roku supports VPNs.
Otherwise, I find the Roku and Apple TV interface much better than the Fire TV. (The Fire TV that I have is however about 6 years old so it may have improved.) The ONN stick sounds interesting so long as it has a snappy interface and supports VPN apps with the Google TV.
