Same, thought it was better at first, but it's not 3x $10, its 3x get $10. Although there doesn't seem to be a minimum purchase for each transaction, just need to have 3.

I used my Google wallet three times, never got notified from Amex (email etc..) , but the $10 credit showed up like a day after my third tap. Ymmv
