I highly recommend getting a Shark PowerDetect cordless instead of this hot garbage. It's running around $216 brand new with Cyber Monday deals, far superior in both clean up and operation, and should last way longer than this Dyson.

Normal sale that it gets often. And original price is exaggerated to make it look like a huge discount.

Any info on the longevity of the battery and/or replacement battery costs? My Dyson battery isn't lasting as long as it used to, but I think I've had it for close to 10 years now. The replacement battery costs almost as much as I paid for it, so I'm open to exploring other options.

If you have cordless power tools, i KNOW some third party companies make an adapter for dewalt batteries, I'd imagine there are adapters for ryobi or Milwaukie too?

Dyson once quoted me almost $200 to fix a broken part on the canister after I let it tip over, after standing it against a wall. Bought a whole new Samsung jet for less than the repair.

Dyson definitely doesn't go cheap on parts. They may give you a discount if the product is still under warranty. But they are definitely greedy. Lol

Which model of the Shark Power Detect cordless vacuum are you referring to?

I had two shark vacs and within 8 months they both started to have issues, lucky I had bought them from Costco and was able to return them. After the return I decided to get a Dyson, I've always been against them because of the cost, but I was frustrated on how many times I had already returned the Shark vacs that I decided to give Dyson a try.

I can't speak to this Dyson model specifically but I just replaced a handheld Dyson that finally died on me after 12 years. I probably could have bought an aftermarket battery but decided it was time to let her go. I bought the Dyson V11 from their website on black friday to replace it.

Dyson is the worst company I've ever dealt with. And now there are tons of reports online of their lithium batteries spontaneously catching fire, fwiw.

It's wild how Dyson brings out either love or hate in people. No middle ground at all. I've had a V6 since 2017 and a V10 since 2020, both refurbished, and they're still going like champs.
