Again, I keep saying it ,never buy used hard drives.
You're correct!....sometimes, these are returned unused. That's the only time it makes sense to purchase one of these!....but you need to check that out on a PC as soon as you get it (and before you put it into service).
It's too bad that they're not offering the 30% discount on a new one.
Purchasing these drives used is risky!....and trust me, the listed condition means nothing! I/others who I know have purchased "like new" products from Amazon that were anything but! One in particular (a keyboard) was stained, scratched, and missing 2 keys, the USB adapter and the documentation!
Truly pathetic! It's pot-luck with these products from Amazon! They don't check anything! Im the door & back out the door!

Since we're on the topic of used HDDs, I had recently bought a used 6 TB 'Like New' portable HDD. Verified with 2 separate HDD SMART utilities and spit out 200 reallocated sectors and 100 uncorrectable errors despite 100 power on hours. I'm guessing these results aren't great and the power on hours are not accurate. Any advice what is a good threshold to keep versus return these used drives?
