If you write 50GB every single day it would take 49 years to hit 900TBW. I'm fairly certain after 49 years we will not be using 2TB drives anymore.

Datapoint: I bought this same drive from BestBuy by PMing Walmart on November 9th. So in 20 days it went up 20%.

I have the SN550 2TB as a secondary drive for all my games/storage. They all load just fine.

Wasn't the SN770 2TB $72 on clearance at WM not that long ago? Their performance is pretty close. Is this the new deal price now?

Does this have any firmware issues?

If none, this would be perfect in the Satechi Mac Mini Hub to expand the storage.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks y'all!

There was a problem when Windows 24H2 was released that required a firmware update for this and other HMB drives, but that's the only one I know of. In general the NAND and controller on the WD blue drives are quite good. It's a bit depressing that this drive at $124 could be considered a "deal" during Black Friday though. I believe the MSRP at launch last summer was $140. Saving $16 1.5 years later on a midrange drive isn't very exciting.

As the other guy wrote, starting with Win11 24H2 this drive was having a problem with HMB memory allocation, but Sandisk (which makes this) came out with a new FW release. The 2TB I bought when this was $106 a month ago already had the latest FW.

Note their 1TB version also has issues with Win11 24H2 and up if used as a second drive in a system.
