Thanks. I ordered an open box excellent for $488 with 5% CB. But I had already ordered the Intel U5 version from Lenovo for $677 with 15% CB, but it has a 1TB SSD plus the pen. Essentially, after taxes and CB it comes to $497 for the AMD vs. $640 for the Intel. Now I just need to decide which one to keep.

Open box was cheaper about a month ago.
Still a nice laptop, happy with mine for $458. Excellent condition open box was in fact in great shape.

I recently bought an "open box" laptop from BB, and the whole experience was a mess.

The website showed 3 units in stock, but the associate didn't even know where they were. He eventually found one in a random generic box, and I accidentally discovered another shelf where he found a second one. Both laptops looked completely different from each other, even though they were labeled as the exact same model shown online — and neither matched the one advertised.

I asked if he could look for the third unit, hoping that one would actually be the correct model. He got irritated and claimed it was closing time and that he was "underage" and couldn't stay late — even though he was clearly not underage.

I bought one anyway, hoping it was the right one, but it still didn't look correct. I returned it the next day, and the associate inspected it like I was running some kind of scam.

Honestly, I no longer trust their "open box" system or their customer service. I'm done buying open box items from BB unless the deal is rock-bottom and I'm 100% sure I won't need to return it. The whole "open box" hype is risky — you might be getting a lower-end item without even knowing it.

You don't want a pen on a win laptop so go with this one.

I have had them play games in the past. Its one reason I have hardly been there in years. BUt, when push came to shove they honored it....With repeat efforts.

It dropped down to $451 a few hours ago. I purchased it again and will return the original.

Any advice on if I should keep this one or the Intel version that I bought direct from Lenovo? Other than the color, the differences are: slower CPU, better iGPU, slightly faster RAM, double the SSD space, longer battery runtime, USB-C ports are Thunderbolt 4, lower spec HDMI port, pen included - $640 after tax and CB. My Best Buy order comes to $460 after tax and CB.

My main concern is the battery runtime difference. How has it been for you?

Do yourself a HUGE favor and run this in elevated cmd before you do anything on this laptop.

mkdir C:\Driver
dism /online /export-driver /destination:C:\Driver

The second you sneeze at the drivers the wrong way (specficially, anything to do with AMD), you might lose audio. I had to reinstall from the Lenovo Windows image just to get the driver working again. No amount of DDU or reinstalling the Realtek drivers was working.

If you ever need the recovery image, plug the serial number here. https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/e...vorecovery

I bought this and it's nearly perfect with a few caveats, and one deal breaker.
Great screen, incredible keyboard, great battery life, snappy, usbc charger, light. GPU is about a 1050 max q equivalent.
Cons: Two free USB ports, no ram upgrade path, AMD ram is shared with video.
The deal-breaker is when I opened it up and found it uses the small form factor nvme, and couldn't swap it. A 2TB drive that size is $170.

Would you like your laptop to also be a tablet sometimes?
Are you going to do anything with TB4?

I actually ended up not liking the tablet-style because your keyboard is just on the back unprotected. It also blocks the intake vents. Finally, I couldn't use a eGPU with it.
