Looks like it's still a thing.

It sounds like they are/were still targeting 2025 for release. (though I'd say 2026 seems far more likely)
I'd much rather support the people who "rebuilt" this game with love than those who "rehashed" it with greed.

1000% legit. Greenman gaming is also another one worth checking out. That being said, this game was such a disappointment in regards to optimization on PC

If I was interested in playing, would I be better off with the PS5 version? My understanding is the remake isn't mod friendly anyway

No issues on my old ass gaming with a amd ryzen 7000 with radeon RX580 gfx card. Game also now supports ultrawide monitors natively and full controller support.

I'm like 50 hours in currently but had to stop since I'm backlogged on so many games. Ghost of Tsushima directors cut on PC is also down to $28 at Newegg and for whatever reason, I'm highly enjoying that one more than Oblivion and I loved Morrowind and Skyrim.

I enjoyed it on ps5. Brought back all the memories of playing it originally.

Bought it, started playing and it crashed on the opening cut scene itself in about 30 seconds.

Read reviews and don't let nostalgia lead you into a trap. This game is the same game from 2006 with a new coat of paint, and instead of fixing the countless longstanding bugs/glitches/performance issues, they've managed to introduce new ones with this "remoneygrabremaster."

If you want to play Oblivion "Remastered," get the OG game cheap and use mods. Job done.

I've enjoyed it with some optimization mods and texture packs.
I also added minibosses and made necromancy stronger/illegal which has been a fun playthrough. That being said you could do the same thing to the old oblivion for a lot less

Ghost is a masterpiece. Have fun.

Very legit. They started off as Bundlestars, one of the smaller legit bundle sites competing against Humble Bundle. Then they rebranded as Fanatical and became a full store + the bundles, just more types of bundles now. They get their keys from the publishers and have that partnership with HP to bring in game discounts. Their prices are higher than the gray market sites but they tend to be lower than Steam.
I have a hunch that they've successfully offset their low profit margins there solely with the revenue from the mystery bundles. Gamblers can't help themselves and publishers needed a way to sell their low-selling titles, so it's a win-win.
