This is a good deal for a homeowner or even someone starting off in the trades. If you're using these tools to earn a living and intend on using them heavily/abusing them, you should consider investing your money in the mainstream brands (Milwaukee, dewalt, etc…) that being said, these tools are definitely able to be used professionally, I used ryobi when I first started. They lasted years. Just don't abuse your tools and you'll be fine

No, but it is a lot cheaper.
Great set for the above average dad who does a decent amount of DIY, but not good enough for someone that uses these for a full time job.

I'd recommend going for the Kobalt set for $250 instead of this - I've used these and the Kobalt tools and the Kobalt are a lot nicer.
Note that right now the Kobalt 4 tool set let's you select two additional free tools, so you can recreate this set or get different tools if that works better for you.

Milwaukee is entry-level commercial.
Craftsman is definitely homeowner or very beginner commercial for a tradesmen
I personally would consider kobalt and craftsman about equal.. except that I've used craftsman tools for many decades.
A couple of tools that I've had to return I've had very little problems with from either kobalt or craftsman.. The only main difference I see between craftsman and kobalt is that you can buy craftsman from a few different suppliers whereas cobalt you're stuck with Lowe's… but I have plenty of both.

if Milwaukee is entry-level commercial, what is just commercial brand?

Hilti...
But most commercial tradespeople I see these days are just using Milwaukee.

I haven't used any of the newer Craftsman power tools but the tools in this set are older brushed stuff, versus you can get the newest Kobalt brushless tools if you spend the extra $50. (The Kobalt models are still a few years old but much more modern than the Craftsman stuff in this set)
Also Kobalt batteries are super cheap if you want to get more.
