Only the screen is below the ebay deal. Staples web says weight is 5.5 lb, a bit odd. But every department is slightly better than ebay deal worth the extra $50

Better how? You are the only one who can answer this, based on your use case, needs and preferences.
That one has no backlit kbd, so this one is better in that respect. Many other subtle differences you need to look at that. Those may or may not matter to you.

I'm not a tech nerd. I am fully aware of the no backlight in the eBay deal. I never use it anyway. I'm asking more about the speed and technical aspect of the components. And how they compare.

The HP is far better build quality. With the HP you're not likely to have the hinge break in the next year for example. Unlike asus.

Its a solid deal. I went with this one from Walmart. Marginally better features.

Despite what it says on staples.com, it's "1920x1200" per HP.

I bought and returned it. It's customized one for Walmart and the build quality is not that great. And, because it was shipped from my local store, the only option I was given for return was to return in store and Walmart gift card as the mode of refund as the system was not giving any other options to the store associates. It was a pain communicating back and forth between Walmart associates and customer service associates wasting half a day and finally got a shipping label to ship it back to initiate the refund to my original mode of payment. So, beware if you plan to return for any reasons.

Fortunately I live near a couple super walmarts. I think I'll be fine. Returning in person. Since I picked it up in person.

Is it the same model as of Walmart one ? Walmart has it 1 TB SSD but this is 512GB . Is it the only difference ?

Ordered from Walmart yesterday with 4 year protection plan.

Probably the shipping weight. 3.97lbs is what HP site shows.
I got the one with Ryzen 7 350, 1TB version about a month ago for $549. No complaints. And Costco has same spec'd one with touch for the same. I didn't care about touchscreen, only numpad and backlit keyboard.
