Not sure why your post got two "not helpful" --- knowing whether a drive is CMR or SMR is definitely good information and could be a determinant for some. SMR drives have a much higher failure rate, lower reliability and slower performance as well. SMR is Perfectly OK for many use cases. A drive that just sits in a corner and gets used once a month to make a backup or something, great. But it's not something you'd want to have in a machine that's on and used all the time IMO.

The price of storage had been dropping for a long time, but recently there's been a huge spike in storage (and memory) prices, tied mostly to AI driven demand (at least that's what I read, not sure if true). What used to be $100 is now $140. A year ago I would have scoffed at this drive at this price, but these days it's one of the better prices you'll see.

I must be missing some joke here, because there's just no way multiple people are having trouble grasping a simple request for the product's physical size or my comment explaining that the driver's storage capacity doesn't somehow nullify one's need to know the physical dimensions.
