That battery is not going to last very long!! 2.5 is fine for a weed eater...but not much use in a blower.

This is not too bad if you're just starting your Ego system. But as mentioned, the 2.5 Ah battery will not last a long time on this blower. Has the battery been a 4.0 Ah at least, this would be a great slick deal!

Oddly enough Consumer Reports gives this a 3/5 on run time, same as the blower with the 4.0 battery. It's highly rated score of 81, vs 82 or 83 for the larger EGO blowers. They are all very well rated - in the top 8 out of 64 models tested.

Now you have me worried about who's rating the stuff. We need to know the size of their yard, the type of trees and whether they're using it to blow leaves or just blow off their driveway.

i bought the 765 blower with no battery and charger. i have no battery or charger and willing to wait for a deal on that battery and charger. now this deal is up, its $10 more but it has the battery and charger.
i dont need a blower to blow the leaves off the grass, i just need it to clean out the driveway and patio.
should i wait for the battery and charger or buy this 615 instead and be done with it.
i guess it takes me about 30 to 60 minutes to clean a patio and driveway on my old blower

Yikes, that's really short, I just wanted a battery one for some odd end stuff or when I run out of gas on the backpack blower but I thought it would have lasted at least 20-30 minutes.

Re: run time, I have the 650 cfm Ego blower and a 2.5ah battery is usually plenty to clear leaves and grass clippings off two small porches, a long front walk, and fairly long/wide driveway (relative to the half-acre size of my property).

If it's wet, or if the four large live oaks in my front yard all drop most of their leaves at once, even a 5ah battery might not quite get the job done on a single charge. But that's rare.

The cool part about these blowers is that they will function with a 2.5 ah battery if you use it intermittently. I keep the 2.5 battery on blower all the time. Some turbo use. Multiple batteries for extended periods. Get larger batteries for property over 1/2 acre or commercial work.
